Dany Holdstein is the motivating force at DTHW. Before opening his studio on Long Island, he studied with dance legends, Martha Graham, Pearl Lang, Madam Darvash, Rick Atwell and Luigi. He performed and choreographed throughout South America with the Pearl Lang Company. Dany, “a teacher’s teacher,” taught Master Classes in Europe, Israel and the U.S.A., served as an Adjunct Professor at C.W. Post College, and conducted dance workshops for the Annual State Conference of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
He is also Artistic Director of the contemporary Dany Holdstein Dance Company and most recently, added Producer of the Summer Dance Series At Morgan Park to his extensive resume.
Andrei was classically trained by the Bolshoi Theater’s Andrei Ledyakhov. He earned his Diploma as a Ballet Master and Choreographer from the Russian Consevatory of Culture and Art. Andre was a Principal Dancer and ballet teacher with the world renowned Moyseev Dance Company, and Riverdance. In 2001, Andre made New York his home. He still enjoys performing, teaching and choreographing.
Yaroslav (SLAVA) Fadayev was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and trained at the famous Vaganova Ballet Academy, who’s graduates include George Balanchine, Rudolf Nureyev, Anna Pavlova and Natalia Makarova. Slava is a meticulous professional, skilled in Classical Ballet, Character, Acting, Mime, Staging and Choreography. He has performed at the Kirov Maryiinsky theater in such classics as “The Sleeping Beauty,” “Giselle,” “Swan Lake,” “La Bayadere,” and “The Nutcracker.” Besides teaching, Slava also coached students for competitions, auditions and performances.
Christine is a former Division I Collegiate Athlete, who also trained in Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop. She has a Master’s Degree from Hofstra University in Science Education, which led to her interest in pursuing a career in exercise science, kinesiology, personal training and dance education for adults and kids. Christine is a talented dancer and choreographer.
Carol was trained in the Cecchetti Technique, Balanchine style, Vaganova Method, and RAD. When she was only 16 years old, Carol was awarded a Casey Grant to choreograph a full length ballet which was performed by members of the Joffrey Ballet. After studying at the Parson School of Design, Carol took time off from dancing to concentrate on a successful career in fashion design. Currently, she is considered one of the top dress designers in the U.S. Returning to teach classical ballet as an adult, gives Carol a unique mature prospective no matter what age her students are.
Dawn earned her B.A. degree from Wisconsin University, and her M.A. in Occupational Therapy from New York University. She is accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association, and has her own Pediatric practice. Dawn wants her young students to have fun in a dance class, while they learn dance basics and class etiquette.
She encourages self expression in her students allowing them become more confident and develop a high level of self esteem.
Jenn teaches Creative Dance, Tap and Ballet Combo and Jazz. She won first Place Platinum in Dance USA, and was nominated for the European Dance Olympics
A recent honors graduate of the University of Connecticut, Janeil teaches Cheer Dance in the DHTW Children & Teen Program. She was on the UConn Dance Team, UConn Encore Dance Team, and UConn Kickline Team. Janeil is energetic and enthusiastic and enjoys working with young people.
Jenny majored in dance, and minored in elementary education at Hofstra University, where she earned her B.A. degree. DHTW is pleased to include the Jumping With Jenny Jones Dance Program in our 2007 – 2008 schedule.
Lancelot, a former professional football player, studied dance at Steps on Broadway, the Broadway Dance Center and Alvin Ailey. He has performed on Broadway and at the Metropolitan Opera, as well as in movies and television. Besides choreographing for the Knick’s City Dancers, Lancelot is also executive producer and actor.
Dawn is a multi-talented dance teacher to children and teens. She enjoys watching her students learn technique and progress on to dancing routines.
Simon graduated from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, where he also served as the assistant to Professor Alexander I. Bondarenko. In Moscow, Simon’s ballet performances included; Giselle, Don Quixote, Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Le Corsair.
Theresa teaches Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Modern Dance. She has a B.A. degree in dance, and an M.A., degree in education. Theresa does Arts in Education Programs in public schools, and dances professionally with Circle of Dance Repertory Company and the Dany Holdstein Dance Comp
Yana was classically trained at the Ballet Academy Vorenz. She has performed on Broadway in Riverdance with the Moscow Folk Ballet. Yana also performs with the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Ballet teacher Kim Araki, trained in England, Canada and New York. She has performed in Europe and the United States.
